  • (Serious) If storing notes is a process that never will end, how does one adjust after categorizing their notes in to sections when new notes come in on the fly and time is finite?
Personally, I like the Getting Things Done method, which has you store notes in an "inbox" (for me, that's a Trello board), which you prune daily or weekly, which involves pruning out the stuff that really isn't important or that can just be done right then. Once I deem a thought or some information worthy of long term storage, I use the mind mapping software TheBrain. That allows me to store information quickly... Source: 5 months ago
  • What format do you save articles?
Works really great! Also, I'm a 20-year user of TheBrain (thebrain.com), and I can drag and drop the files from my Obsidian vault to TB as links. Then, I can edit those files in TB, link them to other 12,000+ thoughts in my TB, and those edits will show up in Obsidian; vice versa, edits made in Obsidian show up in TB. Source: about 1 year ago

  • Tool for managing game assets?
Some management software has "ok" file management... Something like "hacknplan.com" .. it's my favorite. Source: 12 months ago
  • What do you use for planning/brainstorming?
A while back I was working with a small team and we tried out HacknPlan, and we were pretty impressed by it. I liked the integration with a design document, made it feel like it really was geared towards game devs. Our artist took to it quickly and everyone was able to fill out their own timelines with labels so we could get a nice overview of the scope of the project. Other suggestions *Add one task per day into your preferred program management app https://hacknplan.com/ I like this one If you want to continue after that task, can do so, but write at least one. *Join some game dev discords. Source: about 2 years ago
  • I've finally found the game design & development software I need
For kanban boards, I really enjoy using HackNPlan. I just pay for the basic features for it, but it's worked really well for me, and the creator is active on Reddit and is pretty quick on responses. Source: about 2 years ago
