As for rule 2 compliance, you may recall from the last post, I textured the duck with an image from unsplash. I used a terrain texture from polyhaven.com (was texturehaven.com back when I downloaded it.) I honestly cannot remember which tool I got the heightmap from, it was so long ago. I think we'll continue to see an increased use of AI, such as for texture synthesis (including PBR material maps). There are pretty interesting services you can try out such as BariumAI. However, I think AI texture synthesis works best to create materials that don't exist in real life, or only in limited form. Also, I didn't see it mentioned, but if it's environments that you are mostly after, one possible solution is to use HDRIs for the background. Obviously those are more limiting than a proper 3D environment but might be good if you are just doing static, one-off shots.
