  So Lua is the new Tcl. A lightweight scripting language designed to be embedded in other programs. Then I went and looked at http://tcl.tk and it appears the current maintainers of Tcl forgot why it exists as well. ;-) Everyone hated Tcl back in the day for similar reasons.   There are layers that offer access to native APIs like capacitor, cordova and nativescript. Apparently sometimes multiple of them should be used, but I didn't understand what are the differences even after reading the announcement.
