Seems like you got the easiest ways already, but perhaps the most fun way is through the Synchronet BBS system, which will run on Windows, Linux, or *BSD (not sure if this includes OS X...probably, with effort). As the pace is much slower, I can comment once or twice a week and everything is still good. Finally, Gopher and Gemini sites. Compare this to https://replit.com/ which pushes their deployment and you realize that for static website which can do a lot of things these days VS Code with great GitHub integration is just easier and better. And it is easier/cheaper than Vercel too :) Once you want some serverside/db things there are number of paths...
