I've been using Sygic Travel from the Czech Republic and really like it. It doesn't use Google Maps, but you just press the location on the map, click add, then it autosorts to give you an optimized itinerary (like yours does) and spits out the itinerary. Route 3 makes the most sense. Keep mind some of the landmarks you listed for each city are far apart (ex, The Getty and the Getty Villa, Hearst Castle to PG). I use this to plan my drive https://trips.furkot.com/ you can enter what time you want to start and end you day. I stop about every 4 hours to stretch. I prefer to stop at the large truck stops along the way for bathroom breaks. I have snacks for the road such as trail mix, grapes and apples.
