  • I want to use Square to process payments at my store but I hate their software. Is there any way I can do that in something else?
You can use it just by itself. you just type in the amount you want to charge, and swipe the card. thats what we do. then in our pos software we enter the payment was made. some pos software does integrate more directly with it, but ours does not. I have this one https://squareup.com/us/en/hardware/terminal. Source: almost 2 years ago

Get a square terminal. no pci compliance bullshit to deal with https://squareup.com/us/en/hardware/terminal. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • People who do art festivals/trade shows etc. - what do you use to process credit card payments?
We are looking at a few different brands but know there are hidden things associated with each one (high transaction fees, monthly subscriptions, wifi/landline connection limitations, and even ones that we ALMOST bought before realizing it wouldn't fit our 12.9" iPad. The one we are currently looking at is this one --> Square Terminal. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Small, inexpensive hotspot that works with a Fi data sim?
I sell food at farmer's markets. I use a Square Terminal to take payments. I share Wifi on my phone to give the terminal access to the 'Net. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Hiring my first employee. Good payroll services?
    2) Is Square's payroll service worth a damn? I use Square terminals to accept payments at farmer's markets. It seems like I could give one to each employee who sells at a market. They could clock in/clock out through the terminal, and then get paid from Square. Is the service very good? Source: over 2 years ago

  • Stripe Terminal iOS & Android SDK
Hey, I'm creating a POS system and want to integrate Stripe Terminal for accepting in-person payments. I need to have offline capabilities so the server-driven integration is no option sadly. So I'll need to use their iOS & Android SDK's. Can anyone help me with this? Or tell me how to integrate two SDK's into a flutter app? (I'll probably be using the BBPOS WisePad 3). • Gesture-based payments
Finally, using gestures solely would only work if a customer is part of a program that already possesses their credit card details. If a gesture is not used as a confirmation input but as the payment method itself, we need some way to match payment details to this gesture and this user. For example, let’s imagine that a customer wants to pay with gestures that they trained on their smartwatch. We could imagine a... - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
  • Making a point of sale app
The short answer here is: there's companies which will provide you a cloud API to interact with a card reader they provide, and that's the least awful way to use one. These include Stripe (https://stripe.com/terminal), Square (https://squareup.com/us/en), SumUp (https://sumup.com/), and going towards the enterprise end, things like Adyen (https://www.adyen.com/pos-payments). • Can I integrate Stripe terminal with my POS system?
We'd love to have you! Make your way to stripe.com/terminal and go through the docs. There's a nice sample that uses a simulator to show you how to get it done. Source: about 2 years ago
