Play on an easy difficulty for now, stock up food for winter, get power, experiment with basically everything (bedrooms, clothing, weapons, base layout) and decide what you think works best. Don't feel like you have to take on bad colonists, sometimes they're not worth the food. Pyromaniacs are almost universally hated around here. Probably not the cleanest method but you could do some easy scraping using the "web scrapper" addon on Chrome and a basic macro with Macro recorder or UIvision. (both free and damn efficient). Source: about 2 years ago
