If you're wanting campgrounds then I check recreation.gov and reserveamerica.com. For some state parks, you have to reserve online by midnight the night before. Others you can book same day. Recreation.gov will show you nearby campgrounds that have first come first served but there's always the chance they may be full. Source: about 1 year ago
Check out reserveamerica.com for state and federal campgrounds. Also if you search google for BLM (bureau of land management, not Black Lives Matter) , you can find information about dispersed camping. Source: about 1 year ago

You get kicked out for a variety of reasons - mentioning bewelcome.org sharing a whatsapp number and according to a couchers founder, actively volunteering for another planform (allegedly). Source: over 1 year ago
I know what you mean. The town where I went to uni had several language meet ups that were quite a lot of fun. I never looked for German language clubs specifically, but I am sure you'll be able to find some on meetup.com and bewelcome.org.
