Reserve America Recreation.gov RV Park Reviews Campnab
  1. ReserveAmerica is the largest provider of campsite reservations in North America facilitating...
Yes, recreation.gov for reserving most federal spots. Some NP have private vendor operating their campgrounds (e.g. You have to use https://www.xanterra.com/ for Yellowstone). Over here in North Carolina, our state parks use reserveamerica.com and many other states use it too. I've not had too much trouble with reserveamerica nor recreation.gov - other than some sites being tagged incorrectly (tent only but not really).

As for researching campgrounds, campendium is good. I use rvtripwizard.com for planning long routes, and it's sister-site https://campgrounds.rvlife.com/ works pretty well.

I am lazy and too cheap to plan too much in advance. I use services like campnab.com to alert me about available sites on a number of reservation systems. They are connected to reservation systems throughout Canada and the US. Also, there are other similar services. I'm not affiliated with campnab. I've picked up many a spot this way.
