There's an in-between option that can work (depending on the size and complexity of your site. Managed WordPress hosts like (WPengine.com, WordPress.com, pressable.com, etc) offer WordPress specific support that can help sort out various WP problems for you. Both sets of NS servers maintain their own catalogs, so while ns1.godaddy.com will have the correct A records, MX, TXT, records etc, if the true information is at pressable.com NS you'll need to do a dig -t ALL on pressable.com's NS first, get all the data, and make sure it matches on GoDaddy's before changing the NS for the site. I had to do this for a job a few years ago. I created a sandbox version of the site on pantheon.io and removed all editing permissions. On additional discovery that they only needed the static content, I created a static site using SiteSucker (mac app store). They were able to put this folder on their local machine to access anytime.
