  • Passkeys: works for passkeys.io, but not for LinkedIn
On my Windows machine (using Chrome) I successfully created a passkey in passkeys.io and had BitWarden store it. Works like a charm. When I log into passkeys.io via a passkey, the BitWarden popup appears and it successfully provides the passkey. Source: 7 months ago
  • Swapping social login for passkeys
It's easy to register/login, add multiple passkeys, give each passkey a different name, etc. I'm not familiar with Hanko (the team behind passkeys.io). They seem to be just another cloud-based identity and authentication platform, albeit with a nice open source framework and a self hosted version. Source: 7 months ago

  • Tailscale doesn't want your password
It presents a qr code you can scan with the other device. You can try it on https://passkeys.io. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
  • Passage by 1Password
Correct. Nothing is centralized about Passkey (other than where you may choose to store your authenticators). Each site gets a unique keypair. If your keypair is compromised you can delete it on that given site. If you want to try it out go to https://passkeys.io on your Android or iOS device. I do believe Passage is more or less what Passkeys is/already was. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago

  • Password Management : Passwordless Login
Some websites and applications have made setting up passkeys simple. However, others require a little more work. The directory https://passkeys.directory lists all the websites, apps, and services that use passkeys for signing in. We can quickly check how to set up each app and website. - Source: dev.to / 29 days ago
  • Passkey Implementation: Misconceptions, pitfalls and unknown unknowns
Https://passkeys.directory/ indicates that plenty of relying parties have implemented support for passkeys and I’ve yet to hear about any efforts taking 100 sprints (if TFA is to be believed that it’s 100x harder than a single sprint’s worth of work). Indeed a rather lazy exaggeration. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • Passkey Implementation: Misconceptions, pitfalls and unknown unknowns
I don't think this is holding empirically, though. https://passkeys.directory/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • A Passwordless Future: Passkeys for Developers
Passkeys are not just for the future, they are here now. You can start using them today. If you are a developer, you can start implementing them in your applications using Auth0. If you are a user, you can start using them on services that support them. - Source: dev.to / 4 months ago
  • I Stopped Using Passwords. It's Great–and a Total Mess
    ● Passkeys are being supported by major vendors (e.g., as of October 10, 2023, Google announced: Passwordless by default: Make the switch to passkeys, for Gmail users, and Google Workspace administrators can enable it) https://cloudsecurityalliance.org/artifacts/beyond-passwords-the-role-of-passkeys-in-modern-web-security And if you want to quickly check what the passkeys-related capabilities of your preferred... - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
