If uptime monitoring is what you are after take a look at https://nodeping.com/ I use it for various internet lines. Setup and forget. I did end up going with AWS EventBridge to trigger the events, it was not as bad to configure as it seemed at first, but still I am surprised that there isn't a simpler solution. I did find https://posthook.io/ but that actually seemed even more complex than EventBridge. Source: over 2 years ago
