My car previous to my current one, I went to Car Pros Kia in Tacoma...looked up the AVERAGE sale price on kbb.com and said "This is what I will pay". I wasn't lowballing, I just wanted to pay the average price that others are paying in my region. The sales guy TOOK MY PHONE back to show the manager...then came back and said they could do that. $1500. With some major issues. It was a Subaru. They were more concerned with scratches than the mechanics it seemed. There was no rust on my var. Your Honda is probably worth more. You can probably just call them but I found them by getting an offer from kbb.com. They are affiliated with them. California State gas/diesel taxes are high - I think around $1.55/gallon. California has the most highways in the country. They need a lot of maintenance. The drought that we just came out of last winter cracked a lot of blacktop. In addition EV's and hybrids (which are huge in CA) use little or no gas so the revenue of the old 30MPG market is shrinking. Thus the "use tax". That said Texas is always cheaper due... Do not quit your school. You are in California so Denti-Cal exists. Dugoni (SF) accepts Denti-Cal and is 40% off. Do not buy a "new" car. Buy a "new to you" car. Used Toyotas can last, so can Hondas if you maintain them. If you are in SF Bay Area, get Second Harvest which will save on food. Save money on Gas with gasbuddy.com. Move to a cheaper area.
