  • I kinda miss Radio being a main way to discover music
If you're a Spotify user I recommend jqbx.fm. It's got a small population so there aren't that many rooms but they play some really good music. I have about 4-5 rooms I hop around when I'm doing work and JQBX has a few cool functions like starring songs which automatically adds it to your Spotify. Source: about 2 years ago
  • what to do while drinking alone
If you like music, you can join the music/chat-channels on jqbx.fm and we can have a drink together, chat and listening to music..? Source: over 2 years ago
  • Does anyone else struggle with finding new music and actually listening to it?
I discovered a website/app called JQBX a few years ago where a bunch of other music obsessed people share music through premium Spotify. The community there is amazing (and very tight knit), I have discovered 99% of my new favourite bands on there, I usually hang in the room called ☁️ Chill Vibes ☁️. Highly recommend if you want to find new music. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Music-sharing focused social media?
If you have Spotify Premium check out JQBX. You join genre themed rooms with live chat and join the queue to add your song choices to the rotation. I haven't been in on a while so I don't know how active it is at the moment but it's a fun way to share and discover and talk about music together. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Mainstream music
My friend, if you have spotify premium (I know, it's a pity that it doesn't also work with youtube) I recommend jqbx.fm It's where the music nerds hang out on the internet. Source: almost 3 years ago

  • How to trace twitter bots
A good starting point is to use large-scale network analysis on the bots to establish to what extent they are connected (e.g by mentions, retweets or follows) and then see if there are any outliers in the resulting network that look more organic (applying something like the Botometer API). • Help, I've gotten hooked on social media by trying to counter misinformation
If in doubt about a user, ask them directly if they are being paid for their time online. Often the response is cagey, insulting, or redirecting, which should tell you everything you need to know. If they deny that they're being paid, check their post history to see how many hours a day they are posting, and which hours each day they are posting-- normal people do not have eight hours a day to post. Also check... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Elon Musk asserts his “right to terminate” Twitter deal

  • The billionaire oligarch Elon Musk (probably trillionaire during your lifetime) throws some billions to buy Twitter - promotes himself as the messiah who will rescue Free Speech. If this doesn't make you realize that the system is completely broken, I don't know what else will.
You can start here. Musk running Twitter bots - for a long time at that - is pretty much common knowledge. Like this is how he became so insanely rich and why Tesla is so insanely overvalued by historical market KPIs. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Downtown Toronto today. Saw a bunch of Canadian flag, USA flags and “Trump won” flags. Not sure what the protest is all about.
MediaSmarts has developed a custom fact-checker search engine, which you can use to Google something you saw. All the results will be from verified fact-checkers. There’s also a tool that will tell you the likelihood that an account is a bot. Source: about 2 years ago
