Josh.ai VS Deviceplane

a lot of the recommendations here are time consuming. if you do control4 or something similar, it's not time consuming but the integrator that you hav to purchase from will more than likely not give you access to your system. you could do c4 with josh.ai on top of it. or just josh.ai on it's own but then you lose pool control but everything else you are asking for. you'll also have to play in their sandbox of... A voice-activated home automation system that works similar to Alexa but has no advertising has been available for over six years. That is the Josh.ai system and I bet there aren't too many owners that are unhappy with that system. And there are still a lot of things that Alexa can do that josh.ai can't do. I'm using Deviceplane for this right now - it's designed for embedded linux machines but could be used on any linux distro. Is anyone else using Deviceplane still? It seems the project has gone dead, though the website and github pages are still up. I like it because of the easy web interface, and ability to tag / organize machines.
