It's old at this point and I haven't used it but there's jasper Http://jasperproject.github.io/. Source: over 1 year ago
Years ago, Jasper was pretty cool. I had some in-house voice commands set up on RasPI through a webcam. Was a bit choppy back then, but technology may be better now. https://jasperproject.github.io. Source: over 1 year ago
Link dump of assistants I want to check out, sadly with a noticeable home-automation slant: Leon, github readme, self-hosted server Susi.ai, github AI-centric approach to an app/voice/text assistant Mycroft AI more AI. Dedicated hardware planned. Jasper voice-centric assistant Rhasspy, forum offline assistant services Home Assistant OpenHAB home automation integrator Gladys home assistant. I built a little CLI tool to browse HN. I wanted a little project I could write so I could brush up on golang. It works pretty okay -- but nowhere near as feature-rich or polished as something like https://github.com/donnemartin/haxor-news. - Source: Hacker News / 20 days ago
That's pretty cool! I wish there was a better way of figuring out what the key commands are other than guessing (although tbf it's pretty intuitive). I've been using haxor-news regularly for a few years now https://github.com/donnemartin/haxor-news. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
What I really want is a reader view on the terminal -- something that cuts out all layout, formatting and images and shows me the raw article text in a fixed with font. Ditto for comments. I've already tried the "hn" [1] command line tool, but it doesn't strip out navigation menus, heads and footers from articles. It's also a bit slow.
