  • Show HN: Another CLI tool to browse Hacker News
I built a little CLI tool to browse HN. I wanted a little project I could write so I could brush up on golang. It works pretty okay -- but nowhere near as feature-rich or polished as something like https://github.com/donnemartin/haxor-news. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • Hacker News in the Style of Teletext
That's pretty cool! I wish there was a better way of figuring out what the key commands are other than guessing (although tbf it's pretty intuitive). I've been using haxor-news regularly for a few years now https://github.com/donnemartin/haxor-news. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
  • Show HN: Hackernews_tui – A Terminal UI to Browse Hacker News Discussions
What I really want is a reader view on the terminal -- something that cuts out all layout, formatting and images and shows me the raw article text in a fixed with font. Ditto for comments. I've already tried the "hn" [1] command line tool, but it doesn't strip out navigation menus, heads and footers from articles. It's also a bit slow. • Rabbit R1, Designed by Teenage Engineering
It's indeed suspicious. You're sending your voice samples, your various services accounts, your location and more private data to some proprietary black box in some public cloud. Sorry, but this is a privacy nightmare. It should be open source and self-hosted like Mycroft (https://mycroft.ai) or Leon (https://getleon.ai) to be trustworthy. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • Mycroft
I was expecting this to be about Mycroft the AI assistant ( https://mycroft.ai/ ). - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
  • Coral TPU Dev Board for speech-to-text and nvidia agx as host running LLaMA??
But I would recommend writing some proper glue logic in Python and use the socket function for communication. But if you really want to get rid of Alexa, it's probably worth it to set up mycroft.ai or another open source assistant. Source: 11 months ago
  • Matter hasn't revolutionized the smart home yet, but AI may be about to change that - the TechRadar article claims most people don't have smart homes, just connected homes.
Https://mycroft.ai/ is a sophisticated open source replacement for Siri/Alexa … you can buy their premade hardware version for $399. Source: 11 months ago
  • Local AI -- A semi-reliable copy of human knowledge that can live in a box in your kitchen
To add home automation, consider something like Mycroft (https://mycroft.ai/). Source: 12 months ago
