Your computer needs a static IP. This can be set either manually at the operating system level, or via DHCP. Once this is done the things you should test are a) that the computer works and can still access the internet and b) that another computer or device on your home network can ping that first computer. If you don't have another computer, I have had good success using the hurricane electric network... Source: over 2 years ago
To test whether your Guest Wifi is “properly implemented” download something like HE.NET Network Tools. Then log into your guest WiFi, and using the network tool, perform a “ping sweep” of your home network. If your home network is at 192.168.1.XXX, you would do a ping sweep of 192.168.1.1/24 . If you see nothing, then your guest network is “properly implemented.” If IP numbers come up in the sweep, then that... Source: over 2 years ago

Another speed test site is https://testmy.net The site claims superior accuracy (which I can't confirm but probably someone here can evaluate one way or the other). The site offers a number of test options and other amenities. I'll have to try these other sites to see how they compare. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
T-Mobile - 5G WI-FI decently priced... If it only worked! Below I'll post my results from a few hours of a test I did today using Testmy.net. This is an every day occurrence. You could be watching a YouTube video at a nice 1080p60, but then it'll switch to buffering for about 5-15 minutes on average. Or you can watch it on 144p or 240p "with some buffering". The longest downtime was for about 45 minutes to date. Source: almost 2 years ago
