  • How to make fancy road trip maps with R and OpenStreetMap
Really informative post on how to do this "by hand"! I use https://trips.furkot.com (which is free) for this kind of trip planning. It is fantastic to determine how much stuff you can fit in a day, taking into account when you want to start/end your day, driving time, stops for food, time at any road-side attractions, overnight stays, ticketed events (to ensure you arrive on time), etc. It's an... - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
  • Which of these routes is the best for a California road trip?
Route 3 makes the most sense. Keep mind some of the landmarks you listed for each city are far apart (ex, The Getty and the Getty Villa, Hearst Castle to PG). I don't rush I like to stop along the way if there is anything of interest. The website I gave also has things to see... Source: over 1 year ago
