Python and Qt Simplified. Create a Python GUI in Minutes\ (25 comments). Source: about 2 years ago
There are great alternatives. I used Python and Qt to create my file manager [1]. It's a tool that needs to start quickly so Electron was not an option [2]. I open sourced my build system for creating cross-platform desktop apps with it in minutes at https://build-system.fman.io/. 1: https://fman.io 2: https://fman.io/blog/picking-technologies-for-a-desktop-app-in-2016/. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago

I'm sure there are many ways, but I used https://sabre.io/baikal/ to get a CalDAV and CardDAV server on cheap (shared, bog standard) web hosting, and then pointed Thunderbird to it. Apart from automatic syncing of contacts between devices, I can now edit my phone contacts on the desktop, which is so awesome. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
I use Baikal. It's a CalDav and CardDav server which run easily on a NAS with Docker for example. Source: 11 months ago
You might want to look into https://sabre.io/baikal/ or get a true groupware mailbox, e.g. An Exchange account with M365. Source: 12 months ago
