  I use https://flashgot.net/ (and pass it to uGet for maximum speed) which does the same I was doing with ffmpeg and digging on the page souce code (which I'm bad at). It grabs the audio track separated from the video tracks in the different resolutions available but it's pretty easy to merge them with ffmpeg. Source: about 1 year ago

  I prefer to use the website, never have been much of a fan of the Overdrive app and when Libby came out I didn't use it much because my phone at the time didn't support it. And I don't feel like going back to it now. But I just tested an audiobook and was able to get the .odm file. It downloaded the audiobook files fine.   You can definitely download it with most podcast apps (I use pocket casts). You can also download the file directly from youtube with something like this or youtube-dl from the command line (tech savvy only). Source: about 3 years ago
