Yes, you should absolutely not be using Google Analytics. They don't need more data, your users don't want to see cookie banners and most of you really don't need 99% of the data that you can filter through... I can't recommend Fathom (https://usefathom.com) enough. They have a huge focus on privacy-first tracking. Last year I stumbled upon https://66analytics.com/ and liked it quite a lot. It is very light but covers quite a lot of stuff that I wanted to have. It’s a one time payment but only around $60 I think and does not have any limitations after that. I liked the one time payment idea and that I could just run it on a shared Hoster that I had already around. Source: over 2 years ago
