Heroku vs self-hosted PaaS
All in all I’m intrigued by Rancher but since I am looking for something simple then it is too advanced and resource intensive for my small side projects. I will however look into Rancher a bit more later and try to deploy one of my projects to it. That will probably be a blog post in it’s own!

Love https://dataloader.io/ Free for up to 10k records a month! Source: 12 months ago
  • Spring '23 has got to be the most issue-plagued release I've ever seen in my near-decade working with Salesforce
I still can't believe what horse shit Data Loader is. They even own a much better product with dataloader.io but won't make it free even though data movement is integral to a useful database. Source: over 1 year ago
  • A tool to back up a SalesForce instance for migration?
Check to make sure you're actually on the once a month limit. Our org we can do weekly data exports. You can also export your objects by reports, dataloader.io (with limits), and some other tools. Depending on the data's final destination, it may be worth keeping some Salesforce licenses and seeing if you can transfer/sync data via APIs or middleware tools rather than do it manually. Talk to the vendor of whatever... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Importing Data using custom logic
Does either dataloader.io or data import wizard allow for custom logic? I'm matching the contact by full name and crd#. The logic I want to introduce is where contact's field: "platform" = envestnet. Or should I be thinking about creating a flow that will handle the logic to match the contacts from my spreadsheet? • Data loader to update records without using record ID?
I think dataloader.io and def dataimporter.io offer name match. Up to 10k (or 20k for the latter) records/mo free. Source: almost 2 years ago

But I think once you have a good understanding of K8S internal (components, how thing work underlying, etc.), you can use some tool to help you provision / maintain k8s cluster easier (look for https://rancher.com/ and alternatives). Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Don't Use Kubernetes, Yet
A few years, I would have said no. Now, I'm cautiously optimistic about it. Personally, I think that you can use something like Rancher (https://rancher.com/) or Portainer (https://www.portainer.io/) for easier management and/or dashboard functionality, to make the learning curve a bit more approachable. For example, you can create a deployment through the UI by following a wizard that also offers you... - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • Building an Internal Kubernetes Platform
Alternatively, it is also possible to use a multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud approach, which combines several cloud providers or even public and private clouds. Special tools such as Rancher and OpenShift can be very useful to run this type of system. - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago
  • Five Dex Alternatives for Kubernetes Authentication
Rancher provides a Rancher authentication proxy that allows user authentication from a central location.
