Yeah, that's definitely a downside to creating Chrome extensions for constantly changing sites. However, you could implement checks that notify you quickly of any breaking changes. Go to https://crxextractor.com/ and use the link from the downloadhelper download page (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/video-downloadhelper/lmjnegcaeklhafolokijcfjliaokphfk) download the crx and then go to brave://extensions/ and enable developer mode and drag and drop the crx file. Chrome extensions are written in Javascript. In fact, you can look at the full source code for any Chrome extension you want - you can find where it's downloaded on your computer (~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default/Extensions for Mac) or you can use a website like this to download it. I haven’t tested all of their websites yet, but I’ve had this problem on https://chrome.google.com/webstore/ and https://classroom.google.com/ . Keep in mind that I get this issue ONLY when on managed accounts. I even tested using two accounts that were managed by different enterprises, but the same issue persists on both. If I try to run Javascript on those sites using my personal account, it goes through... Source: 8 months ago
