  • Alternatives to nextcloud? Is this abandonware?
As far as alternatives go there is cozy cloud, which tbh I never tried, but it seems a lot more limited. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Is Drive the best GDrive alternative available?
I use Cozy Drive. It's open source. You can pick a folder in your pc, and it syncs it to the cloud. You can still open in offline. They have 5gb free version, which I use, because I need it only for documents and photos. Android app is good too, and you can automatically sync your photos. Source: over 2 years ago
  • I need a Password Manager and don't know what to get.
However, it really depends on one needs and usage. For example, tags might be a more flexible way to organize the passwords than folders, I agree with that. Searching in Bitwarden is reasonably good, which makes folders or tags a lot less relevant. The limited number of item types is not limited for my use, as I rarely use Bitwarden for anything else than managing passwords. Autofill never bothered me, personally.... Source: over 2 years ago
  • What’s a good way of sharing resources at home (local net)
If you want more of a web-based file sharing solution, you can try out more professionally made open source file sharing services like Syncthing, YouTransfer, or Cozy. The advantage of web-based solutions is that you can use them with your smartphone as well, which is very convenient. Source: about 3 years ago

  • Ask HN: Interesting TUIs (text user interfaces), maybe forgotten ones?
Lazydocker [0] is by the same author as lazygit. I'm thoroughly familiar with the Docker CLI, but sometimes it's just easier to use a GUI or TUI for some things. In particular, I use lazydocker for cleaning up volumes or images that may no longer be needed. [0] https://github.com/jesseduffield/lazydocker. - Source: Hacker News / 10 days ago

Electron? That's from RedHat, so I guess it's yet another fail for GTK.. Why not a simple TUI? https://github.com/jesseduffield/lazydocker I will never understand why people choose to use Electron.. Nothing in the program requires a web browser, literally nothing What happened to software "engineers"? - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago
