Just keep in mind that many charitable groups are not that well-run, or even scammy themselves. There are good resources at places like givewell.org, and charitywatch.org, to get ratings on how effectively various charities use the money they raise. Source: about 2 years ago
That isn't true. You need to learn how to do accurate research in terms of non-profits. You can look all of this information up on charitynavigator.org or charitywatch.org. You should absolutely know how your donations are being used and be confident in your donations, but you should not get your information from internet memes and then continue to spread blatantly inaccurate information. Charitywatch.org issued a report in 2019 that doesn't look too bad. Unless the org is blatantly lying about pulling salaries from the companies tax records, then the CEO made less than 7 figures. Some people might feel that is excessive and that people should run massive non-profits out of the goodness of their hearts, but I personally see no issue with using a high salary to attract the best person for the job.
