I recently got the Wavlink AX3000 mesh router to replace my service provided router so that I can set my own preferred DNS server (running Pihole on my Rasberry Pi). Since hooking up this router I've been seeing anywhere from 6-12 DNS queries per minute to bing.com of A and AAAA type. Have been digging a little more in the little time I have spare at the moment - Seems DNS blacklists/redirect are not fully successfull. Even though I have redirected the domains sling.com, slingbox.com and slingmedia.com to a local "HoneyPod" on my lan it still appears that the slingbox is trying to talk to 67.148.153.136 and 67.148.153.250 on the internet which it can not get to since I shutdown all internet... Ah, got it...there is a "MANAGE ACCOUNT" link on the bottom in the PC app but all it does is launch sling.com in whatever the default browser is so that is not going to be much help...maybe something for them to add in the future. Source: over 1 year ago
