If it were me, I'd install Automagic (free now from automagic4android.com) and use the overlay feature available in the "Control UI" action, and see if those things are something that can perform functions. You might be able to figure out what app it's from by that. You can go around some of the extra processing by using other camera apps, for example "Open Camera". It can even shoot RAW photos, so that the least amount of processing is applied to the image.
