We pack applications as WAR and deploy them under Apache Tomcat. And yes, we enjoy the development process.   Don't use an installed copy of Tomcat. The layout can be different than expected and permission problems can appear at the worst time. For one, it needs to be able to write to that conf directory.   I really liked the idea of how all the core Vue libraries are maintained by Vue team themselves, making Vue feels like an all-in-one package instead of infinite npm install to add multiple community/personally maintained repos which often caused issues because they don't blend together.
