Activeworlds ! This may be the first online 3D multi-user social virtual world, launched in 1995, eight years before Second Life which it shares quite a few things in common and was clearly a huge design influence on. Including vehicles, flight and water, player-built structures and object scripting. It was pretty mind-blowing to experience in the late 90's. When you consider other consumer 3D experiences like World of Warcraft or Second Life (both of which had better graphics 20 years ago than Replika has today), it becomes evident that Replika under-delivers.
