One of the main benefits of Coinbase is its extensive security measures, which include offline storage for a majority of the company's cryptocurrency holdings and advanced security measures for online storage. Additionally, Coinbase is licensed and regulated by several financial authorities, which helps to provide users with a certain level of confidence in the security of their funds.

It has a daily trading volume of around $4 billion and is one of the most user-friendly exchanges available. Coinbase is also one of the few exchanges that is regulated by the US government, which adds an extra layer of security and reliability. - Source: Reddit / 3 days ago

A few people said he must have gone to a phishing site but the browser showed coinbase.com, what appears to me to have happened is he likely had malware that enabled remote desktop protocol: someone was likely manipulating the html on the coinbase page to add the prompt and trick him into forking over his savings. It's too bad he didn't ask for help sooner, but even if he did almost everyone put him on blast and... - Source: Reddit / 29 days ago

Most e-mail providers these days use authentication methods like DKIM, DMARC and SPF to prevent these sorts of e-mails from reaching you. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago

Crazy thing is that guy appeared to actually be on the real coinbase.com (it wasn't a phishing scenario with a similar URL) but it seemed he had a remote desktop protocol malware installed and was actually viewing a cached webpage with altered HTML - something I haven't seen before in this type of situation. If you are holding any crypto it would be better to have it in your coinbase wallet, rather than the coinbase.com exchange. Coinbase wallet is self-custody, which keeps your crypto safe if something happens with the exchange. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago

Sorry if this is inconvenient, is not my intent but have my security to protect, want to help people but can't risk incarceration for it. Also can keep funds in crypto to buy drugs... - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
