This is a good initiative, but I'd expect that these details will be added to https://applesilicongames.com in a few days or weeks. Source: 11 months ago
It works through Crossover, I just tried it on M1 Pro and there are indeed small glitches when looking through portals, but otherwise it runs pretty well (after initial small stutters on texture loading). I didn't expect to need Crossover, especially since games like Deus Ex: Mankind Divided run natively, but apparently Valve didn't compile Portal 2 for 64-bit systems (I remember it working natively on older MacOS... Https://applesilicongames.com/ has details. A lot of games that don’t require DX12 work well under parallels. Source: about 1 year ago
Been using https://applesilicongames.com for perfirmance indicators. What does 'Good' count as? 30FPS? 40-50? It's too subjective. Source: over 1 year ago
UTM isn’t made for running games. Which game do you want to run? And which Mac do you have? If you have a Apple Silicon powered Mac (M1 or M2) check out Apple Silicon Games. If you have a Intel Mac you can always use bootcamp. Source: over 1 year ago
Https://applesilicongames.com here is a website for hundreds of games’ performance on Apple silicon hardware including whether or not it is playable, if it can be played on high quality settings, whether it needs parallels or crossover etc. For a variety of silicon devices e.g m1 air or pro. Just noticed the epic games launcher so this might be useful: Https://applesilicongames.com is a handy tool for seeing which games can run on the M1 and above macs and what performance is like. Source: over 1 year ago
Https://applesilicongames.com/ is worth a look. As a recent M1 Pro buyer I can say GTA V works well with Crossover (though GTA Online doesn't appear to work) and Beam NG also works surprisingly well. Source: over 1 year ago
The web you mentioned doesnot say about Macs, but I found it here https://applesilicongames.com/, and it's playable! Source: almost 2 years ago
You can check which games are running and how good on This website. Streaming is certainly on option just as much as using virtualization software to run Windows apps/games, Crossover and Parallels both are great for this, but both are paid apps. Source: almost 2 years ago
That's not quite true, you can play a significant number of games on the M1 using Rosetta 2 or Crossover. M1 and macOS are quite capable. Source: about 2 years ago
Check this resource too. Also look up youtube videos of macbook perfomance in the games you like. Source: about 2 years ago
This might be a useful resource if you want to know how other games will run: https://applesilicongames.com. Source: about 2 years ago
Since nobody else linked to them here, I've found https://applesilicongames.com/ and https://www.applegamingwiki.com/ to be helpful -- search for the game you're trying to run, maybe someone has gotten it working in one of these already and can save you the work of figuring out dependencies and whatnot on your own. I’m also frustrated about this. Even if it is mentioned the data is often not updated for modern macs (32 bits are no longer supported) or M1. I usually painfully search at https://applesilicongames.com/ for the ones I am interested. Source: about 2 years ago
There is a lot of support for M1. See these lists. Please note though that "playable" does not mean "on par with other platforms", ie, Windows and Xbox / Playstation. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1er-NivvuIheDmIKBVRu3S_BzA_lZT5z3Z-CxQZ-uPVs/htmlview#gid=0 https://applesilicongames.com/. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
How is this different from http://applesilicongames.com? Source: about 2 years ago
Https://applesilicongames.com/ is a great source for getting an idea of what can run. Dota 2 has a listing on there you can check out. Source: over 2 years ago
The two games you listed do run according to my sources (applesillicongames) at 40-60 fps on the base air, meaning that the pros should be able to run it easily. You can check any program you need with the link above or through isapplesilliconready. These arent verified by apple and are mostly updated by a small group, but in my experience they are accurate. The question is then a) how important is the gaming aspect to you? b) which games do you want to play and c) how often? If you are fine with simpler games that run on Apple Silicon (https://applesilicongames.com/), the M1 will get you much further in the van just power wise. Source: over 2 years ago
I can't find AoE IV on this list but everything else on your list is playable according to: Https://applesilicongames.com. Source: over 2 years ago
