    I use Nucleo to manage my own icon sets. From Google to fontawesome to my own custom made vectors. Then you create "projects" and put whatever icons you want in it, then export the iconfont set.

    i'm pretty confident that Notion did not design these icons - it would, as you say, be a huge waste of their time, and also be very unnecessary. They most likely come from something like https://fontawesome.com, or some other icon library - and they probably changed simply because they updated this library.
