  2. Tenacity is an easy-to-use, privacy-friendly, FLOSS, cross-platform multi-track audio editor/recorder for Windows, macOS, Linux and other operating systems.
    They got bought by new owners and then developers decided to add telemetry to track app usage. Telemetry or tracking in free (as in freedom) and open source apps is a big no, and after the devs doubled down on their decision against huge community backlash, the community decided to fork the app on GitHub and called it Tenacity. The new project gained the same amount of stars as Audacity in just under a month IIRC, and is now hosted on Codeberg instead of GitHub.
