Many 18th century books are also already digitized. you may browse books.google.com and archive.org to see if a digitized copy already exists and save yourself the trouble.

I scan my medieval manuscript collection so I can digitize them on archive.org. I prefer Adobe Scan. Unlike camscanner it will save the files on you adobe cloud account so it isn't using up your cell phones storage space.
