Losing weight at 34 with a toddler!

TDEE Calculator net CalorieTracker.io
  1. Use the TDEE calculator to learn your Total Daily Energy Expenditure, a measure of how many calories you burn per day. This calculator displays MUCH more!
In terms of determining what your daily calorie goal should be, I'd recommend using an online calculator (like this one) to get an estimate of your TDEE. When I put your stats in with a sedentary activity level, it gives me an estimated TDEE of 1,682. Your TDEE value represents (an estimate of) how many calories your body burns in a given day, so if you consume that many calories in a given day, your weight should stay stable. Eating anything below that should result in weight loss -- the size of the deficit determines how quickly you will lose weight.

  2. An intelligent calorie and weight tracking assistant that learns with you.
The TDEE values you get from online calculators are just estimates based on population-level data, so they aren't totally exact. They should get you in the right ballpark to start, though. If you find that your weight loss isn't proceeding as expected, you can make adjustments (and there are tools you can use to calculate your own personal TDEE based on data you've collected, like calorietracker.io).
