VPNs: Most VPN companies such as NordVPN, ExpressVPN, and most other large VPN providers advertise their VPN as the one for all solution to everything related to privacy, and that cannot be further from the truth. A VPN is used primarily to stop your internet service provider from seeing your network traffic, and instead sends all of that traffic to your VPN provider (which is why it is important you pick a very well trusted company as they are intercepting all of your network traffic). 2FA: This is a necessity for all online accounts nowadays, but it is important to store your TOTP codes somewhere trusted and secure. Services like Authy are cloud-based and proprietary, meaning that no one can verify their privacy and security claims. Cloud-based applications are risky as it is, and it is best to keep your codes somewhere local on your devices, such as Aegis for Android, or Authenticator for iOS. A good cloud-based option for convenience is Bitwarden, which doubles as a very private, secure, and open-source password manager (which I would recommend adding to your list). You can also use hardware 2FA keys such as Yubikey, that you can either plug into your computer or use NFC on your smartphone to act as your second factor of authentication, and you can just have your key on your keychain or whatever.
