Unity Learn

For when you choose unity: Go to Unity Learn and do some projects/courses, watch some videos, learn C# via unity learn and other unity resources, if u really don't like c# maybe try a visual programming language like Unitys Bolt.

If your dream is 3d or you're not sure, then Godot or Unity are still probably your best bets, Unreal Engine is another option too, though it has very low usability for 2d games and can be limiting.
