The best thing you can do is learn unity. Unity themselves have a amazing official course teaching you the basics of the engine. I have also found that some experience in Java has carried over extremely well if you have any. Other then that there is not much more you can do. Source: about 2 years ago
Unity.com/learn is a really good resource. For someone who has no coding experience I recommend starting with https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/csharp, especially the self-guided tutorials. Tbh I havent worked much with jumping in games, but you could add velocity to the rigidbody when you pressed space, then add a check to see whether or not it's grounded. I'm pretty sure unity has a 3D character controller that you could probably disect and learn from. And a little bit of advice would be to check out some of these Unity tutorials or Brackeys on yt. If you're a beginner then it's going to be a while before you can really make anything by yourself, look up tutorials series, like on Unity Learn or Youtube. Learn about C# and how to program or use visual scripting. Source: over 2 years ago
