Previous homeowners had this home security system installed, any DIY monitoring ideas?

Konnected.io
  1. 1
Connected home security platform that works with Apple Watch
Home Assistant has an integration for the Concord automation module, so there's that. Actually, I think there is more than one way to use it. You could also get an alarm.com communicator, but you'd be looking at a minimum of about $14/month for self-monitoring, $19/month including professional monitoring. Keep in mind that Interlogix is out of the residential security business though, before you sink any more money into that system.

I had something similar and used a raspberry pi's GPIO pins and Home Assistant... Occasionally I got ghost triggers though because the GPIO pins only use 3.3v and my wire runs were long, so I got a Raspihat DI16ac I2C-HAT and use 12v. Been working great! I had to toss out the proprietary touchpad though. I'm using an old phone and this MQTT Alarm App mounted to the wall (I ran a wire for charging in the wall). I prefer this setup over the konnected.io because it doesn't use WIFI, the wires from the door/window sensors are directly wired into the system. Yes, the control panel is WIFI... But that is not crucial for the system to work. If the WIFI drops, the system still functions.
