For the past two days, I have been unable to access xmage.de. Is the server offline? Is it dead? No one has said anything. Does anyone know what is going on???? I hope this is not the end!!! Source: about 1 year ago
Launcher hasn't worked for a week, can't reach xmage.de, and isitdownrightnow agrees. What's going on? Source: over 1 year ago
You can use Xmage or Cockatrice as dedicated online free platforms, or Untap for in-browser gameplay (Untap has no built in rules engine, so be careful that you're following the rules!). There is also a small but dedicated group that play on Tabletop Simulator if you have it. Source: over 1 year ago
Lastly there's XMage which allows for PVP with rules enforcement. It's a bit resource intensive though, so I would probably try the other two first if you're interested. Source: over 1 year ago
Yeah only an idiot would play on the official mtga client paying so much for decks when third party clients have them for free, like http://xmage.de/ https://github.com/magefree/mage. Source: over 1 year ago
You can download the regular version of XMage here - http://xmage.de/. Source: over 1 year ago
Http://xmage.de/ of you want something more similar to Arena where the game deals with the rules for you. Source: almost 2 years ago
Import deck lists in various formats, like Magic Arena deck lists and XMage deck files Optional, automatic deck list translation. Translate all cards in the deck list to your preferred language. (Depending on image availability.) One-click removal of Basic Lands, so that you don’t have to hunt them down in the list first. (Except for Wastes, these are rare enough that I consider them print-worthy.). Source: almost 2 years ago
My advice would be to look into Cockatrice and XMage as alternatives to Tabletop Simulator. I tried all three with my playgroup and we found TTS to be the most cumbersome of the group. Cockatrice is what my group uses, and both that program and XMage are free. Source: almost 2 years ago
I'm using two apps, Forge and Xmage, to play online and want to find people to play Modern or Draft (of any kind) with on a constant basis. Source: about 2 years ago
I don't know who pays for the xmage.de server (it was levelx2 back ages ago). Source: over 2 years ago
We'll use mtgadraft.tk for the drafting portion and XMage for the games. If you've never played on XMage before, it's basically a free version of MTGO with full rules enforcement, created by members of the Magic community. We have detailed guides to help you through the setup process! Source: over 2 years ago
Sure! First step is to redownload the launcher from http://xmage.de and do a clean install. Let me know how that goes. Source: over 2 years ago
If you're open to learning a new client, I suggest you check out XMage - draft and play with whatever you want without worrying about wildcards. Source: over 2 years ago
Alternatively: Download and play with XMage and encourage others to do the same. Source: over 2 years ago
XMage is a free open source program, functionally similar to Magic Online, that supports just about every way you'd want to play Magic. The most recent sets take a little while to be programmed in so support for standard isn't as good, but for "historic" constructed formats it's fantastic. Historic, Pioneer, Modern, Vintage - it's all there! Limited (set drafts, cube drafts, sealed etc.) is supported, as is... Source: over 2 years ago
We draft and play using XMage which is functionally similar to MTGO but free. If you're unfamiliar with XMage we have tutorials and a helpful team to get you started! :). Source: over 2 years ago
What version of xmage, how did you update, what OS, are you running a local server, do you have java installed, do you have enough RAM for the local server if present, have you done a ping of xmage.de, have you looked for any mageclient.log output ... Send screenshots. Source: over 2 years ago
As the name of our group suggests, we use the XMage software for both the drafts and the matches. XMage not only comes with full rules enforcement, but also with a customizable full control mode that is certainly better than what Arena offers you in that regard. I can only encourage you to try it out, I was skeptical at first but I was quickly proven wrong - this is 100% the real MTG experience and basically just... Source: over 2 years ago
It might be worth trying xMage as well. Source: over 2 years ago
There's also a free third party, open-source platform XMage. We have a Discord where we draft limited formats throughout Magic's history. We proceed chronologically and right now we are getting to 3*M10 and 3*Zendikar. Got some spicy customs formats in there as well! Source: over 2 years ago
