  • wikipedia.org not working on DU (EITC) network
The fact that you're able to traceroute and ping wikipedia.org through ICMP doesn't necessarily mean that's NOT blocked. ISPs here have recently gone through measures where blocking a website doesn't necessarily greet you with the official 'Blocked in UAE' landing page, instead they're simply blacked out with a DSN error, similar to what we are seeing in the case of wikipedia.org. • wikipedia.org not working on DU (EITC) network
Anyone using the DU Home Internet (Fiber network) unable to access wikipedia.org ? Checked over Etisalat cellular data and it works fine. Source: 9 days ago
  • GPT-4 Browser Plugin is unusable slow. I know the capabilities are more than just a search engine, but if you need to wait for 3 minutes each request, I'll just read it myself.
I know that some think the error is related to robots.txt (that is the file that prevents accessing certain files). But that can't be the cause. All visited web sites are listed in the drop down menu and for me the "Click failed" messages came for pages like cnn.com and wikipedia.org. These do not exclude their pages via robots.txt. And also: The pages worked a few hours later when I repeated the same prompt with... Source: 12 days ago
  • Who is the authority about wallets?
At the end of the day there is no authority on open source things like bitcoin wallets or wikipedia.org. Do some research and get a feel for a consensus. If it's too good to be true then it probably is. Source: 16 days ago
  • Timothée Chalamet Is Channeling His Viral High School Rap Persona for ‘A Complete Unknown’ Bob Dylan Biopic
Art Film: a movie made primarily for aesthetic reasons rather than commercial profit, often of an experimental nature. Typically an independent film, aimed at a niche market rather than a mass market audience. (Dictionary.com , wikipedia.org ). Source: 17 days ago
  • Beautiful Soup VSCode Install Fail Post Jupyter Notebook Installation (Mac)
    Import requests From bs4 import BeautifulSoup Res = requests.get("http://wikipedia.org") Print(type(res)) Soup = BeautifulSoup(res.text, "lxml") Print(soup). Source: 27 days ago
  • The Role of Ontologies in LLMs
I tried the question posed on birds and got an answer that was almost exclusively sourced from wikipedia.org site. I asked the question again with the instruction to exclude wikipedia.org as a source which it did except for one reference. Given the volume of data on such a topic I am surprised that the answer utilized wikipedia.org over other sources and struggled with an answer without it. Source: about 1 month ago
  • Why does this church have a cute hat?
Wikipedia.org and other sites tourist books Or go home. Source: about 1 month ago
  • Japanese people of reddit, is it true that your country is walkable and livable without a car?
According to wikipedia.org, Japan's per capita rate of automobile ownership is lower than Germany, France, Spain or Italy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_vehicles_per_capita. Source: 3 months ago
  • Bypass school firewall.
Uff, that's an interesting filter ... :D wikipedia.org blocked in a school ... Might not be the brightest idea IMO. Source: 3 months ago
  • Russia fines Wikipedia for publishing facts instead of Kremlin war propaganda
So, you install your favorite Linux distro (or a specific Windows distro that you know is not compromised) on your computer, then go to https://wikipedia.org. Either you get through, or you don't. Source: 3 months ago
  • Country Sentiment In Over 100 Languages [OC]
Data: wikipedia.org. Language/Country pairs with at least 100 AFINN charged words. Source: 3 months ago
  • Accidentally accessed porn on the work network!
Story sorta checks out. Wikipedia landing page for 'Penthouse' gives OP a link for the apartment and the magazine right next to eachother, easy misclick - but it still puts you on wikipedia.org with a pretty tame cover (I've seen more skin at the beach) so OP would be fine in that case, assuming their employer had monitoring that even cares. • PayPal solvency mystery after next price spike.
From wikipedia.org: " Paxos was founded in 2012 and is based in New York City, with offices in London and Singapore. As of April 2021, the company has received $540 million in funding. ... In 2015, the company changed its legal name from itBit to Paxos Trust Company. At the same time, the Department of Financial Services of New York granted Paxos a limited-purpose trust charter, making it the first company in the... Source: 4 months ago
  • Deepfake porn of streamers isn't a big deal.
On the contrary. We are going to reach a new dark age. Where all information is at your fingertips but discerning if the information is true will be next to impossible. And so to try controlling it will rather have the opposite effect. It's best to pay it no mind and focus on how to make information verifiable and sources trustworthy. As a software engineer, I would predict the solution would be using digital... Source: 4 months ago
  • What do you do after you've reached a point where you can't find any online versions of documents?
Go to wikipedia.org to learn about different places. Use the wikipedia in the relevant language. For example, the Wikipedia page on Neckenmarkt in English has almost nothing. The Neckenmarkt page in German ("Deutsch") language Wikipedia has multiple headings of information. Then right-click on the web page and select "Translate to English.". Source: 4 months ago
  • 👀 Looking for people willing to collaborate on open-source projects. (TypeScript, React, Vue, NextJS, Rust, ML, NER, NLP devs needed)
    - neuwiki: a different approach to a wiki. All sections are pages by themselves, which makes embedding sections on multiple pages easier (for pages about similar topics or for a pages in a different languages). I'm building it because I've long wanted to create an open-source, open-data/open-knowledge website with detailed information about influencers (something like wikipedia.org + famousbirthdays.com, but... • Channel Analytics Questions - Why 0 impressions? Can we dig further down into analytics to see exact source URLs? (Full questions in comments)
Is there a way to dig further into the external sources? I see that some those listed are full URLs which is nice because I can see the exact page where the traffic is coming from. However some just say a generic URL like "wikipedia.org"... I'd like to know why and where my stuff is being shared on Wikipedia, can I see the exact URL somehow? Source: 5 months ago
  • Don't be a sheep
Rule of thumb: When arguing your case, you have to provide the specific data required for your case. You can't just link "wikipedia.org" and then go "research it, lol". Source: 6 months ago
  • How do we bring back character to web design?
Websites used to have such identifiable looks. Some still do like steampowered.com, wikipedia.org, and more. Nowadays, for the most part, all websites are aiming to be simplistic and generic. Source: 6 months ago
  • Why aren't followers translating to sales anymore?
Quoted from chartdata.org but also repeated on riaa.org and wikipedia.org. This is specific to RIAA certifications however, and it's different from YouTube to Billboard etc. Source: 6 months ago
