  • [Question] How Do I Write Chorda For A Song Cover
I'm currently trying to find tutorials on how to find the right chords for certain songs and all I land on are a bunch of chord songwriting tutorials (which are quite useful, but aren't necessarily what I'm directly looking for). The chords, even the sheet music, aren't publicly available nor has someone made a guide for them on websites like Ultimate Guitar. Someone could tell me to spend all day and night... • I want to become a doom/stoner metal guitarist, what exactly should I learn?
Pick 2 or 3 doom songs you love that are nice and slow and easy and look up the tabs on ultimate-guitar.com. Source: 10 months ago
  • Need help buying a new budget guitar!
I bought my first guitar around 18 months ago, because I didn't have any hobbies and playing a musical instrument seemed like a good start, since I absolutely love the sound of the guitar and bass in about every song I hear, primarily in all songs by my favorite bands Muse and Royal Blood. Now, I have already accepted that I won't be the next Matthew Bellamy... But after playing the guitar for the first time 18... Source: 10 months ago
  • Brought my first electric guitar, wanting to learn some metal.. thoughts?
Also, ultimate-guitar.com is your best friend when it comes to notes and tabs. Source: 11 months ago
  • Guitar Tabs ?
There're a few tabs on ultimate-guitar.com and a Ganbare tab on Songsterr.com, but that's all that I know of :(. Source: 11 months ago
  • Trying to play DnB with acoustic guitar
Fox stevenson uses guitar quite a bit in his songs and I found some of his tracks on ultimate-guitar.com , but they're mainly chords, not tabs. Source: 12 months ago
  • Redditors who have actually won a “lifetime” supply of something, what was the supply you won and how long did it actually last?
When I first started playing guitar, I purchased the ultimate-guitar.com app on the playstore, this might have been around 2009 or 2010 so I could always take a look at tabs and chords and somehow, I ended up with a lifetime pro subscription. Source: about 1 year ago
  • What's a software you searched to selfhost but is still missing to you ?
Import from popular website (like ultimate-guitar.com and so on). Source: about 1 year ago
  • What are some easy guitar songs?
Really what you should do is use a website like ultimate-guitar.com and start looking up songs you know and love. Even if they aren't even songs that are played on the guitar. The trick here is to be sure and look through the different versions of the songs. A lot of the time when you're a beginner, the one that tells you exactly how to play the song, isn't the one you want. Someone usually makes a very simple... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Hot damn RS blows Guitar Pro out of the water
I honestly have 0 idea what you're talking about. Guitar Pro is this: https://www.guitar-pro.com. You buy it, download it then you can go to a website like ultimate-guitar.com. And you can search up tabs for songs people have made (or make your own) download the tab file and guitar pro will load it. Form there you can have guitar pro play it back to you in midi form or just play specific sections at whatever speed... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Can anyone recommend an affordable (and I mean extremely affordable) place for guitar lessons? + points if they're open on saturday or later hours
The resource I use most for playing guitar is ultimate-guitar.com... But I just open google, search up the song name, artist name and "chords" together and usually ultimate guitar is the first link. I think it is a decent resource because it shows you the chord shapes and the name of each chord shapes and places them, where'd you expect above the lyrics, not only is it easy to digest and get into... But over time... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Beginner songs for acoustic?

  • How to play guitar like the piano?
As I thought myself guitar I would highly recommend "ultimate-guitar.com" as it can tell you how to play " EVERY" chord there is and all song there are (it can show the piano as well). And the daverend way to play chords. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Alternative to Ultimate-Guitar for live cover gigs?
As some of you may have noticed, the once reliable Ultimate-Guitar.com & App has become well, a lot less reliable with more and more artists disappearing from the service due to licensing + the app being overall a lot more laggy. Source: over 1 year ago
  • This is B-Hard from Bumpin Uglies. AMA!
In 2003 when I was learning guitar I used ultimate-guitar.com to learn everything. If you can't do barre chords yet, buy a capo and get comfortable with it. https://www.justinguitar.com/ is also a great site for learning fundamentals. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Every song on Salad Days Lead+Rhythm Guitar Cover (First Half)
I actually learned from a combo of tabs and ear. Tabs just greatly speed up the process and then I use ear to see what doesn't match. There are some pretty good tabs out on ultimate-guitar.com and some youtube vids that cover what's missing. If you have any specific requests lmk ill do a lesson. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Looking for bass tabs
There's a pro tab version of it on ultimate-guitar.com. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Looking for advice.
Guitar is a really good instrument. It is what I started on. And there are so many free resources online like ultimate-guitar.com . So much easier to fix a broken string too than a broken reed in an accordion. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Just got a electric guitar
I used ultimate-guitar.com to look up tabs for songs that I liked. Start with easy stuff like Green Day. Learn the almighty power chord. I guess my most important tip would be to train your ears to hear what sounds good on your guitar in relation to music being played around you. GLHF! Source: over 1 year ago
  • After binging Davie for 69 minutes an hour for a week, I've decided to buy a bASS and start learning to play. But I know nothing about playing music, any tips?
If you are willing to invest in yourself a teacher would be quite useful. It is up to you to judge whether if it is worth it or not. Otherwise, start with some fundamentals lessons on the internet or elsewhere and also learn with tabs (e.g. ultimate-guitar.com [though it doesn't have a lot of bass tabs, the website has a good reputation as well as just youtube video bass tabs).
