Not 100% sure, but I think this is the one they’re talking about: https://topia-app.com/. Source: over 1 year ago
I use Topia for tracking my investment rate and dashboards! (https://topia-app.com/). I find it really helpful to plot out the route to FIRE and see my progress each month. The app seems to have come a long way in the past year. Source: over 1 year ago
Absorb all the great FI content! There are a tonne of great podcasts, books and blogs which have some really good insights/advice/tips I have built a free FIRE app which is designed to help people just starting their FIRE journey which you may find useful. The app breaks down the FI journey into 8 stages to simplify what you need to focus on at each stage. You can also automatically track and monitor your... Source: about 2 years ago
If you want something to go alongside your excel, I created a free FIRE app called Topia which you may find useful. You can connect in your investment/debt accounts, customise your inputs (SWDR, FI number etc) and Topia will build out your timeline to FI and update in real-time. You won't get the complete customisation/personalisation you get with a spreadsheet but it's a good way to get started initially and keep... Source: over 2 years ago
If you're competent using excel you can build out a fully personalised roadmap/FI tracker on there. Alternatively, I'm in the process of building a free tool (a FIRE app) that can help anyone at the start of their FIRE. You just input all the numbers and it will build you out a FIRE roadmap and give you an estimated FIRE date + timeline (+ some other cool features). You can check it out here if you fancy. The final step/question you have, around how big your non-pension assets have to be, to determine what your ISA bridge needs to be you really need to model this out on an excel spreadsheet. Do you currently use anything to track/monitor your FI journey? If you're not a fan of excel, I have built a FI mobile app called Topia which you may find useful. You can use it to build out all the different scenarios and see... Source: over 2 years ago
I built a tool designed to help people just starting out on their FIRE journey which may be of interest. You can automatically create your own FI roadmap and track your progress (so no need to build out your own excel spreadsheet). We also have some features to help pinpoint opportunities to reduce your time to FI. You can check it out here if you think it would be useful to you. Source: over 2 years ago
I'm actually in the process of building a free tool (a FIRE app) that is basically designed to handle all the calculations and factors which goes into planning your FIRE journey. It will build you out a FI roadmap and then as things change you can update it and it will adjust all the calculations and re-configure your roadmap for you. So may be useful in giving you some clarity on our roadmap as it changes over... Source: over 2 years ago
Staying motivated / excited on a what can be a long journey is always tricky. Maybe talking to others about your FI journey isn't the only/best option - breaking down your journey into smaller milestones can be a great tool to keep you motivated and excited. It's important to think up ones that are relevant and resonate with you the most. A fun one I've seen a lot is working out at what point you'll be able to... Source: over 2 years ago
For me, the core things to line up in the early days are: 1. Make sure you have the right investment foundations in place. i.e. ISA set up, know the details around your employers pension scheme (how much they contribute, what the fees are). Then you can make sure you're matching your employers contribution and everything else you save can go into your ISA. Try and automate this to some degree - e.g. Set up direct... Once you've got a solid knowledge around the foundations of FIRE and want to start tracking/monitoring your progress, I'm actually in the process of building a free tool (a FIRE app) that might be of interest. Firstly, great stuff for starting so young. You're already way ahead of the game having an ISA and setting up regular contributions into it. It sounds like you're pretty ok from an account/investing standpoint. Just keep matching your employer's pension contribution and putting everything else into your ISA. Given you've got your investments/ISAs etc set up, the only other point worth noting is do you know what... Source: over 2 years ago
Congrats on getting started so early! If only I was as switched on at 19 I think if you live in your family home for the first year you're fine to build up your emergency fund in tandem with your investments. Just make sure that by the time you do move out and leave home your Emergency fund is filled to where you want. My only other comment is around why you haven't mentioned investing in your employer's pension... Source: over 2 years ago
Hey u/afwowest, no worries! At the moment it is compatible with all Ios phones + tablets. Jump onto our website (here) and click get early access. We do have a waiting list but will be onboarding people as quickly as we can. Source: almost 3 years ago
Hey u/FI_seek_ER, if you jump onto the website here and click check my position you should be able to see where you're at. The waitlist hasn't moved much over the last year as we finished developing the app but from now onwards we will be adding new people each month so you should get added this/next month :).
