Running a headless browser to render HTML is a resource intensive task. If you only need to generate simple documents, you're better off using a tool that generates PDF directly. You may want to look at a PDF library (Python/PHP/Perl/Java, etc.) You can do all you mention with a lot of flexibility. Tcpdf comes immediately to mind, there is also a Python port. If you want to learn a language, I recommend python. Learning how to make a basic program when it is something that you want, and you know what you want is a great way to learn. Theyโre all pretty time-consuming and repetitive, plus my requirements usually call for batching generating PDFSโฆ most solutions are unwieldy when dealing with a high volume of PDFs. You may want to look at a PDF library that you can access via Python or PHP. TCPDF will definitely do this. If all the info and photo filenames are in a database or CSV file, nearly complete automation is possible. It would be especially valuable if there is need to remake PDFs in future. I had to recreate some PDFs at work that were created by "iText by Lowagie" which must have been a java library at the time. I redid it with the FPDF library for php, and it worked out fine. I tried some new features of tcpdf, and it wasn't much work to convert. Using inkscape to make an EPS out of an svg was also challenging. FPDF and its extended variants TCPDF and mPDF will easily do it (PHP). There are other libs in Python, Java. Most are free/open source.
