  • A list of SaaS, PaaS and IaaS offerings that have free tiers of interest to devops and infradev
Storj — Decentralised Private Cloud Storage for Apps and Developers. The free plan provides 1 Project, 25 GB storage, and 25 GB monthly bandwidth. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
  • Do you donate your CPU time, storage, or bandwidth from your homelab to any altruistic purpose?
I did storj.io but was not profitable and the support was worthless. Did join NTP Pool (as I have a stratum 2 GPS NTP) but the power supply died and I haven't been able to get time to fix it. Source: 6 months ago
  • NFT Payload Storage Options
Storj is based on blockchain technology and peer-to-peer protocols to provide secure, private, and encrypted cloud storage. - Source: dev.to / 9 months ago
  • Another Dead 5n2/soldier
I will eventually move to a synology ds260slim, but tbh I feel cloud storage is better storj.io not trying to sell it just saying it’s really really good and cheap. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Donating spare computing power
You can even make money from storj.io ! Source: about 1 year ago
  • OrangePI 5 CLuster
    - velero backups local pvc/manifests to storj.io (150GB is free). Source: over 1 year ago
  • Block Storage vs Object Storage
Take a look at Storj for object storage. You can not beat it for pricing: $4/TB/month. The interface is compatible with S3 and there are only minimal changes to be done at mastodon's setup. Plus having your storage separate from your server makes migration and upgrades a 1000 times easier. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Best place to upload / store 35-50GB daily online?
I'd recommend that you consider https://storj.io . They offer ridiculously redundant, and quite fast cloud storage. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Can I use Tailscale funnel to do the exact same as NoIP?
I want to expose all ports. I’m trying to run a https://storj.io node that recommends noip but I want to switch to funnel. Im not exactly sure of the configuration, but I think it’s just every UDP/TCP port from a device. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Online backup storage within the EU
Not sure if it would meet your requirements but if you want something a bit different https://storj.io. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Hetzner continues its growth in the US with a new location
I mentioned it yesterday, but I will mention it again... Take a look at Storj. [0]. Storj pricing is basically unbeatable. $4/TB/month, $7/TB/month for egress bandwidth which (I heard, yet to try) can be saved further if you put something like cloudflare in front of your bucket. Speaking as someone who set up their own minio cluster (on Hetzner) as a way to have object storage at the lowest cost possible, if Storj... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Hosting Images with Storj and Cloudflare
I assume you already have an account at storj.io. The next step is creating a bucket for your images. A bucket is just a place for your files and folders to live in storj, just like in any other S3 compatible storage provider. (Actually there are no folders in storj and other S3 services, the folders are just prefixes of the filenames). When creating a bucket, make sure you save the passphrase securely, such as in... - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago

Storj — Decentralised Private Cloud Storage for Apps and Developers. Free plan provides 1 Project, 150 GB storage, 150 GB bandwidth per month. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
  • An actual use of blockchain cloud storage
I have been using storj.io for a while and it's great that they provide 150GB for free cloud storage. This is thanks to blockchain and how people provide their unused personal storage and get rewarded by doing it so. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Backblaze Unlimited Storage
Are you building your own storj.io? They also break up files (need 29-of-80 to recover I think?) to spray them across node operators. Or some sort of par2-like-app? Looks cool either way! Source: over 1 year ago
  • Backblaze B2 vs Arq Premium Cloud
If you're concerned about one location only having your data, you could look at something like Storj, where your data is not only backed up by Arq, encrypted, but it's also spread around the globe in chucks so no one "node" has a complete copy of your data sets. Source: over 1 year ago
  • What do you use your oracle free tier for?
I'd recommend Storj for free S3-compatible backup storage, I've set up automated backups for my servers. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Backblaze or alternative?
I don't have an answer other than recommending check it storj.io if you want an alternative. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Which (cloud) storage service for 6 TB with 100 Mbps bandwidth?
+1 for backblaze if your backup needs will keep expanding. Also consider storj.io if you just want to park that 6TB long-term. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Unable to sign up at storj.io ?
Anyone expericing the same problem? It might be a ReCaptcha misconfiguration problem at the storj.io website but I'm not sure. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Best software to host remote backups
Kopia is also an option. Very easy to use and has an intuitive config file to configure everything. Supports a decent amount of storages natively. Can use with rclone as well for more storage options. I use restic personally and works great. Paired with rclone and I backup to storj.io. Source: about 2 years ago

External sources with reviews and comparisons of Storj.io

Wasabi, Storj, Backblaze et al, are promising 80%+ savings compared to Amazon S3... What's the catch?
There is no data redundancy SLA for Storj DCS. So how do you explain that to your CTO/CIO/VP/SRE? To their credit, Storj DCS has enterprise-grade SLAs for most other aspects of the storage service, and it stands to reason that data redundancy should be pretty good thanks to its sprawling global network. However, for some companies, a data redundancy SLA may be a challenging requirement to work around.
Battle of decentralized storages: SiaCoin (SC) vs Storj (STORJ) vs Filecoin (FIL)
Storj is another open-source decentralized cloud storage creating project that looks to offer a decentralized, safe and efficient way of managing your data. The platform is Ethereum-based, meaning that the STORJ token is just one of many ERC-20 standard tokens currently being traded on the crypto markets. The company recently migrated to the Ethereum ERC20 standard as it was previously operating on the...
