What I've done before this happened: 1. Updated Windows to latest build (which is again asking me to since I restored to previous restoration point). 2. Installed "SoundSwitch" to switch with hotkeys between different sound outputs. Source: 5 months ago
Https://soundswitch.aaflalo.me/ can also come in handy. It can make switching sound outputs much easier (again, a key combo can toggle between several outputs). Source: 10 months ago
I use SoundSwitch for switching between mt Steeleseries and speakers. I really like my headphones but find it extremely annoying they can't have a normal aux out so could just use a cable splitter. It is the reason I will never buy another set. Source: 10 months ago
Download SoundSwitch so you can switch between sources with hotkeys. Source: 11 months ago
If that doesn't work look at your Sounds/Recording settings and make sure the mic is the default input device. Then (IIRC the nano also has audio passthrough) if you are 'monitoring' or using the sound card in your mic for output make sure it is the default Playback device. I suggest using a free utility that will let you toggle through between your default outputs and recording devices with a keyboard shortcut... Source: 11 months ago
I used to use Soundswitch. Pretty good program :) https://soundswitch.aaflalo.me/. Source: about 1 year ago
SoundSwitch control audio out/inputs with profiles set to hotkeys. I have pageup= speakers and an empty mic input, pagedown= headset and mic. The tray icon shows the current profile's device icon so I changed them in windows sound->playback->properties to show it like this. Source: about 1 year ago
Https://soundswitch.aaflalo.me Literally life changing. You can setup a “force” profile so this never happens again. Source: about 1 year ago
I kinda went on a deeper search the other day about it and found out this software, same concept you mentioned. I can get a stream deck/macro keyboard and make it run the hotkeys for it. Source: about 1 year ago
I use a nice little utility called SoundSwitch to easily switch back and forth between headset and speakers, without having to plug/unplug or dig into the settings. Source: about 1 year ago
If you install Soundswitch https://soundswitch.aaflalo.me/ you can swap outputs with a hotkey, and it and/or Windows will switch to the latest one you powered on. I used that with my headphone amp so that when I turn on the headphone amp, Windows switches the audio to that. When I turn off the amp, audio returns to the receiver and the speakers. Get a tool called Sound switch. I use this to switch my audio inputs and outputs quickly instead of relying on some software fuzzy logic. https://soundswitch.aaflalo.me/. Source: over 1 year ago
However he can mimic the functionality with https://soundswitch.aaflalo.me/ this will allow you to configure a hotkey to switch between audio outputs (and also between audio inputs). I have used that app for years and am very happy with it. Occasionally I come across a game that prevents it from switching in the background but that is rare enough not to be a nuisance. Soundswitch will do it with a hotkey - https://soundswitch.aaflalo.me/. Source: over 1 year ago
