This looks fantastic. I will definitely give it a spin. I've been tracking what I call "computational scratchpad" apps for a while now but haven't found one that fits my environment/workflow yet. Maybe Heynote will. Here are some others that I've looked at: * https://soulver.app Granddad of them all, Mac-only, proprietary, expensive * https://numi.app Mac-only, proprietary, semi-expensive. Has a Github and claims... - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
I love the idea of a 'sheet' where you can add financial data and have it figure out what it needs to calculate. I would love to see this have the ability to draw simple graphs to show how your situation will look, or allow for things like interest rates on deposits, or the ability to see how your income might look like in X years with an Y% average increase, etc. PS: Also check: https://soulver.app/ for inspiration. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago

Soulver. Useful to do calculations. I often find it useful while coding. Calca is even more powerful (you can almost program in it), but a lot less polished. Source: 12 months ago
This is why I use https://soulver.app/ on macOS. Source: about 1 year ago
Soulver (Paid) It's pretty expensive for a text-based calculator, but it's really good. Soulver is a notepad calculator app for Mac. It's a notepad that gives instant answers to calculations in your text. Soulver is a better way to work things out than a classic calculator and a more lightweight tool for working through problems than a spreadsheet. Source: about 1 year ago

This looks pretty cool. I've long been looking for something similar to Soulver (https://soulver.app/) that I can use on Linux. This seems promising. One small criticism: In my opinion, no web-based writing app is useful unless the tab key inserts a tab. The default behavior of most browsers to move focus to the next field is tremendously infuriating in this context. Unfortunately, that's what happens here, at... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
I gave up on this idea and just use Soulver. It exports text and HTML if you want to get results into Obsidian. Source: over 1 year ago
I had the same problem with Alfred but decided to look into Soulver which has an alfred workflow. Now I usually just do things like u 12 lb to kg and get the conversions I want. Soulver also isn't too bad at reindexing currency conversion rates but that's something I rarely need to do. Source: almost 2 years ago
