  • Which would you choose?
If you have a decently modern phone you can get the smoothtrack app on your phone for $10. You can use that as an input for opentrack. I've been using that for a while, and it seems to be working well. Apparently you can also use a regular webcam in opentrack using aitrack, but I haven't personally used it so I can't vouch for how well it works. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Tested ,CHEAP and easy to use head tracker.
For the last 6 months, I’ve been using a app on my phone for head tracking. It’s called https://smoothtrack.app/ and it’s only $9.99USD links to any front facing camera and works very well. I originally bought it because the trackIR pro was on backorder but since using it, I feel no need to change. I have no affiliation with this app.I’m just very impressed by how simple and effective it is. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Other alternatives for Track IR
Yeah, it works with opentrack. Pretty seamless. You do have to download some connection software to get them to talk, but that’s all covered on the SmoothTrack site. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Glancing at other MFD displays while flying using HOTAS/HOSAS?
If you have a cell phone, look into the SmoothTrack app: https://smoothtrack.app Been using this with an iPhone 13 mini, and it’s awesome and way cheaper than alternatives. Also, it gets the tracking processing off your computer to the phone so you don’t lose CPU performance to the tracking. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • How to start in IL-2
U should try a cheap alternative untill u get trackir Https://smoothtrack.app/ is a 10 euros android / ios app. U will have a far better experience that using keyboard for viewing. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Help with eye tracking setup! I have a Quest 2 and immersion is amazing but it’s hot and heavy and generally cumbersome, so I think I’m going to stay with super ultrawide, and I have decided on an eye tracker. Tobii 5 looks awesome but expensive. Any pro tips?
Yea the s8 should be great at doing it. I know it used to work perfectly in the Gear VR. So I’m sure itll work. Maybe look into https://smoothtrack.app. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Yoke or stick to learn
My best tip: use head tracking software. This is the cheapest option: https://smoothtrack.app/ it's only 10 bucks and you can use your phone. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • New G29 for ATS, after playing with an Xbox controller for years.
There's an Android/iOS app called SmoothTrack that uses your phone for head tracking in conjunction with an open source piece of software for your PC. Might be worth a try? Source: almost 2 years ago
  • New to DCS, any good multiplayer servers for n00bs?
This is the one I was looking at. Its supposedly a app on your phone that uses your phone camera, but I wonder if its bs or not. Source: about 2 years ago

  • Camera head tracking for opentrack?
You can use https://smoothtrack.app/ with android and UDP to an OpenTrack session on your PC. I just mount my Phone on a stand at the bottom of the monitor and modify the axis to align to centre. It uses the ARCore sdk from memory, and your device in on the supported list: https://developers.google.com/ar/devices#google_play. Source: over 2 years ago
  • First person Kerbaling: Mün landing, using IVA mods + head-tracking with an AR-based phone app called SmoothTrack

  • Best way to play without TrackIR or VR?
Plus one for SmoothTrack or Head Tracker if you have an iPhone/iPad. Especially if you have one of the newer versions of iPad/iPhone that can be unlocked with your face. Source: over 2 years ago
  • about trackclip
Smoothtrack for phone: https://smoothtrack.app/ I would use an old phone (leave it plugged in) so that I did not tie up my regular phone. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Thought I would share this cinematic I made. Let me know what you think!
If you have a webcam look at open track and the aruco paper tracker. It’s a free solution and works nearly as well as Track IR. If you have a smart phone there’s also SmoothTrack which works really well too. Source: over 2 years ago
