You can run apps from meta store, sideloaded apps from https://sidequestvr.com/ and use Steam link/Air Link/Virtual Desktop to wirelessly play PC VR. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
Steam link is designed to work with the Steam app on your computer/pc. It's a great way to wirelessly run games that you've bought through steam. There's some free games that're available, Pop One, Blaston, others that you can run this way to see if you like it, before investing in new paid games. You can also use Sidequest https://sidequestvr.com/ to download games to your headset that will run natively. ... Source: about 1 year ago
You can get kinda better looking standalone visuals if you finagle with Sidequest a bit. But that's the only way to have better visuals standalone that I know of. Source: over 1 year ago
Go here, https://sidequestvr.com/, download sidequest (pick the advanced installer) and follow the instructions to set it up and get it working on your quest. Then you just download the steam link apk from here https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/valve-corporation/steam-link-beta/ and use the sideloading feature in sidequest to install it on the quest. I’m thinking of buying a Quest 2 and I don’t have in mind ever using it with a PC so I was wondering if I use it without the PC can I download games from other pages or only the games from the Oculus Store, for example in another post I saw someone mention https://sidequestvr.com would I need a PC to download games from that website? If not then what does the PC adds to the Quest? Source: over 1 year ago
Tell that to the hundreds of developers using sideloading to distribute thousands of successful apps on Quest: https://sidequestvr.com/ Or to the thousands of Mac developers who sideload their app without the App Store. Or to the tens of thousands of Windows developers who distribute apps through freestanding MSI and EXE files... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
You have access to a PC visiting your relatives, and you brought your quest. YOu also have your PHone with the Meta Quest app. But you didn't bring your Meta account details(password etc). If you go to sidequestvr.com or whever you find applab games and you find some while in our relative games, is it possible to install them through the phone Meta app? Source: over 1 year ago
Hi! Basically, you can just search any title on the online quest store and check if it‘s available for the quest 2 specifically. If it‘s not there, you can also check sidequest, where you sometimes find fan made ports of games, though I don‘t think they have Resident Evil, and also fan made stuff is not always the most stable stuff (e. g. Might crash). If it‘s not there, the game is probably on Steam. Everything... Source: almost 2 years ago
I used https://sidequestvr.com/ for that. Source: almost 2 years ago
There is no "google play" for standalone VR games, there was a crappy one years ago for smartphones (google daydream), but it's dead and abandoned. There is SideQuest, but it probably doesn't support the VR700 since it's so rare and unusual. Source: almost 2 years ago
If you have a computer, I highly recommend you get SideQuest. You Don't have to void your warranty or root your device or anything, though it does take a few minutes to set up the first time. But, it will allow you to install third-party applications and make all sorts of settings changes, including forcing games that don't support 90hz to run at 90hz. (This part is crucial for me; 72hz actually makes me... Source: almost 2 years ago
As far as I am aware the only games available to play directly from the Quest 2 are either bought from The Quest Store or SideQuest. Source: almost 2 years ago

I did, however finally find a solution. Using SideQuestVR I installed the Wolvic browser (beta) which is just an alternative web browser for VR. Plex for web works pretty great in this browser and I'm able to just open app.plex.tv and play movies in there. It's not nearly ass good as SKYBOX or other VR media players but it's decent and certainly better than watching movies on my 4.5" phone screen. Source: almost 2 years ago
Also for quest modding you will need to use The Quest beatsaber version downgrader and SideQuest to mod the game/get and mod older versions. You have to be logged in with an authorised meta account with a licensed beatsaber purchase on the account to use the downgrader as it uses official databases to download the apk's. 2023 is year were we will be able to play the original Duke Nukem 3D In VR. I prefer for quest content in this Video the 1:1 aspect ratio you actually see more of the gameplay its not cropped. I guess many things in Video that I sayi hope do not go to far. I am actually not aware about the process and the goal of this port. This is Quest only Port Dr Beef Raze XR remember a very very early version ... Source: about 2 years ago
